What are pasta chips? They're real pasta, puffed into a crunchy, poppable chip and seasoned with bold Italian flavor. Tantos, created by Chef Joe Sasto, is the first and only puffed pasta chip, crafted from 100% semolina and seasoned in flavors like Marinara and Cacio e Pepe. No bowl, no fork, no boiling water required.

So, what makes a pasta chip a pasta chip?
Think of your favorite bowl of pasta. Now imagine it snackable, poppable, and ready whenever a craving strikes. That's the whole idea.
Tantos starts with 100% semolina, the same stuff your favorite pasta shapes are made of. It's cooked, dried, and puffed into a light, crunchy chip, then seasoned with real Italian ingredients. The result has its very own shape: fioregato, a mashup of fiore (flower) and piegato (folded). It's not a tortilla chip. It's not a cracker. It's pasta, reimagined.
Who made pasta chips? The Tantos origin story
Tantos, made by Sasto Snacks, was created by chef Joe Sasto, a Top Chef finalist who apparently could not stop thinking about pasta between meals, and co-founded with Sean Knecht. We launched in July 2024 and made our Shark Tank debut in November 2025.
The name comes from Tanto si, Italian for "so much yes." It's who we are: believers in saying yes to the delicious things that make you happy, and food lovers who think pasta should be at your fingertips anytime, anywhere.
